Wastewater - Heatexchanger FB-8/W in a dye works

Dyeing wastewater heat recovery

A dyeing plant understandably generates large quantities of wastewater. A Fercher wastewater heat exchanger type FB-8/W is used in this plant. Return on investment (ROI) of around one year is not uncommon.

Technical Data:

At a cold water temperature of 10°C and a wastewater temperature of approximately 70°C, the service water is heated to 35-40°C and the wastewater is cooled to approximately 30-35°C.

According to the installed heat meter, this dyeing plant achieves energy savings of:

Daily energy savings: 4,060 kWh
Annual energy savings: 1,055,600 kWh

Assuming 3 euro cents per kWh, this results in annual energy cost savings of 31,660 euros per year.

Investment costs for the entire system: approx. 35,000 euros
